Carlson Gracie Revolution Team dominate at the Kent Open

Carlson Gracie Revolution Team dominated at the Kent Open BJJ tournament. With over 100 fighters in attendance the Carlson Gracie Revolution Team were always going to be a formidable force but who could have foreseen such a dominant performance that even with 2nd 3rd and 4th place teams adding their points together Carlson’s were still the winners.
The whole team should be very proud of their performance, the Carlson Gracie Revolution continues!

Antonio receives his Purple Belt

antonioCongrats to Antonio who received his Purple Belt from Wilson Junior tonight. After around 4-5 years as a Blue it was long overdue.He’s a monster. The class was packed tonight with 35 on the mat,so he had to walk a serious gauntlet for his whipping.

Seminar on Saturday October 11th 2008

The 2pm BJJ class will be replaced by a seminar with BJJ Revolution Team black belt Samuel Puccio to help with our preparation for the Kent Open BJJ tournament in November.


Thien Receives Purple

thienCongratulations to the latest member of Carlson Gracie London to receive his purple belt from Wilson Junior. Thien Krua-Chottikul has impressed everyone at the club with his dedication to training and excellent performances in competition and will be returning to Bangkok as a Carlson Gracie Purple belt. Ryan Robinson wins FX3 light Heavyweight title

ryanCongratulations to Carlson Gracie London MMA instructor Ryan Robinson on winning the FX3 light Heavyweight title on 22nd June 2008 by submission. Don’t miss Ryan’s excellent MMA class every Wednesday at 6.30 at the Hammersmith dojo.

Dickie Martin is awarded his Black Belt 19-5-08

dickandnissarIt is with pride i announce that Dickie Martin was awarded his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
tonight by our instructor Wilson Junior.
Dickie,who also received his Blue,Purple and Brown from Wilson at Carlson Gracie Revolution Team
joins the ranks of U.K. BJJ Black Belts.
A fierce competitor,he has been tearing up the tournament scene since 2001.
An inspiring teacher,tough training partner and our own encyclopedia of Jiu Jitsu,Dickie
has trained exceptionally hard for a very long time.
As a Blue Belt he decided to cross train in Judo to help his BJJ game and was awarded his Judo 1st Dan in 2005.
I am also proud to announce that another Old School Carlson Gracie Student was awarded a new belt tonight as well- NISAR – PURPLE BELT.

The Purple Belt is an extremely large hurdle in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Nisar has trained for many years to arrive at this stage-Well done my friend.


New Belts!

blue belts may 2008A fantastic day at the boiler room with over 30 students on the mat for Rodrigo Medeiros’ seminar. With a mixture of great techniques from the seminar the students will have a lot to work on over the coming weeks.
It was also an especially memorable day for Mark,Alex, Ian,Gary and Jay who received their blue belts from Simon and Dick to mark the first major milestone on their journey in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Congratulations guys and remember, just keep training!
